About Us

Levelton Consultants Ltd. was founded in 1966, when Dr. Bruce H. Levelton, P. Eng. struck out on his own as an independent consultant. It was a fairly humble start; Levelton’s first office was his dining room table and his wife Betty kept the books.

Initially, Dr. Levelton concentrated on his specialities—process chemistry and chemical engineering. Soon after, he made the decision to diversify bringing in three more engineering specialists and expanding the company’s scope to include corrosion prevention, metallurgy and construction materials testing.

We’ve grown steadily for over 45 years and now employ over 220 people in nine offices in British Columbia and Alberta. Today, our core disciplines include environmental sciences, hazardous materials management, geotechnical engineering, construction materials engineering, building science, metallurgical engineering, corrosion prevention and laboratory services.

Levelton remains an employee-owned company in which all of the principals are active employees who maintain a hands-on involvement in projects. In this way our culture supports an environment of personal accountability to clients and client service, and ensures an appropriate commitment to quality management and senior review.
